Wall of Fire

Wall of Fire combines a hit when it appears with a short-lived obstacle in the area. It is useful for dividing the battlefield or interrupting a normal route when the party needs to buy time. Its danger to targets is precisely limited in time: its creation may hit them, but according to the catalog its continued existence does not add further damage.

When planning, distinguish the initial area attack from the subsequent obstruction of sight and passage. It does not inflict repeated damage every round. The short line has limits on both its length and the number of targets it hits, so good placement matters. The wall can help a retreat, but it can also cut the party off from a route it intended to use.

Exact effect: When created, it hits at most 3 targets in a line using the area-attack rule. The wall then blocks sight and normal passage, but deals no further damage. Bonus: +2 to MATK. Target: a line up to 5 m long; at most 3 targets when created. Duration: 3 rounds. Restrictions: once per combat. Using it requires at least Intelligence 10 and Level 5, the appropriate casting ability, and knowledge of this spell. Meeting the numerical requirements alone does not grant knowledge of the spell.

Meeting requirements is not enough

Min. INT and Min. Level only allow a spell to be learned. The character must actually acquire it through leveling, a teacher, a book, a scroll, a reward, a discovery, or the story.
