Read Thoughts
Read Thoughts focuses on a target's surface thought or immediate intention. It can offer a clue in an uncertain conversation or an investigation, but does not open up the other person's entire past. The caster gains limited current information whose meaning must be placed in context. The target's impression may be incomplete, just like an ordinary thought of one's own.
Success and concentration are required during the short duration. Each round reveals only the stated scope of information. For a main opponent, the result is limited to one emotion or current goal. The spell therefore does not guarantee every answer to a mystery under investigation; the party still needs questions, further clues, and its own judgment to connect them.
Exact effect: On success, reveals one surface thought or immediate intention per round. For a main opponent, reveals only one emotion or current goal. Bonus: +0 to MATK. Target: 1 creature within sight. Duration: concentration, at most 3 rounds. Restrictions: once per target per scene. Using it requires at least Intelligence 10 and Level 5, the appropriate casting ability, and knowledge of this spell. Meeting the numerical requirements alone does not grant knowledge of the spell.
