Battle Fury
While below half of maximum HP, gain +1 to the result of every melee attack.
Starting hero · Level 1
An orc rogue combines strength with training in discreet movement. The character may be a scout, an investigator, or someone who specializes in freeing others. A large build can affect the story's opportunities for concealment, but Soft Steps follows the same rules as for other races. A variety of solutions is the advantage: depending on the actual situation, observation, tools, or strength may open the way.
Within the party, the rogue helps gather information, pass unnoticed, and gain access using suitable tools. The greatest contribution often comes before combat, when scouting helps the group understand what it can avoid. Soft Steps makes ordinary sneaking easier, but an exceptional obstacle may require a roll and the ability cannot create cover where none exists. Others' trust depends on the rogue's decisions, so defining personal boundaries and an attitude toward other people's property is useful.
The racial ability Battle Fury grants +1 to the result of every melee attack while the character is below half of maximum HP. The class adds Soft Steps: Vaelor assumes success during ordinary sneaking. Only an exceptional obstacle requires a roll; the ability does not allow hiding where it is objectively impossible. Choose starting equipment according to the requirements this particular hero meets. The listed values form the basis of a level-one character; personality, name, relationships, and the reason for adventuring are decided during character creation.
