Fantasy humanoid Challenge 4

Giant

Giants inhabit mountainous regions, vast wastelands and places with enough space and food for their size. Their buildings look rough and excessively large to human visitors, yet may follow their own order and craft traditions. Elaria has legends of ancient giant families whose homes others now mistake for natural rock formations. A solitary giant may descend from such a family or have been exiled from their own group.

They live alone, with family or in a small community. Leadership may depend on age, strength or respected experience. A giant understands their needs and relationships; slower actions or different customs are not evidence of an inability to think. They seek food, peace and safe territory. What they consider ordinary provisions or a clear path may, however, mean an entire herd or a roof over someone's head to a human.

Wide Swing attacks two targets once per combat with separate, weakened attacks. Massive Body reduces every instance of physical damage, while magical damage is not reduced in this way. The party can use the terrain, keep out of reach or try to clarify a dispute before the giant's size advantage comes into play. A giant may need help with a missing relative or a threat to their cave. Agreement is possible if both sides understand what the other actually wants.
