Fantasy humanoid Challenge 4

Minotaur

A minotaur is a powerful humanoid with a bull's head and horns. In Elaria, it can be encountered in deep ruins, rocky strongholds and complex underground structures. Legends attribute ancient curses to some families and origins in forgotten cultures to others. Its association with labyrinths may come from its actual home or from stories told by people who could not find their way out of its territory.

It may live alone, protect a family group or guard an important location. Strength and appearance do not make it a mindless creature. It can make decisions, recognize familiar people and uphold its own commitments. Its goal may be the safety of its home, fulfilling an oath or protecting something others do not understand. Some minotaurs are violent attackers, while others use their intimidating presence to prevent combat altogether.

After a powerful hit, Horned Charge can weaken the target's next attack. Bull's Endurance reduces the first physical and first magical damage each round, with each counted separately. A direct confrontation therefore requires a plan and a good understanding of the rules. The party can seek another entrance, discover the conditions of the guardian's oath or present proof of their right to pass. It has no automatically assigned weakness to a particular substance; its actual vulnerability may depend on the specific story and surroundings.
