Thunderbolt

Thunderbolt is a stronger attack against a single visible target. In a story, it can be a decisive moment that shows the caster's ability to wield the power of the Air school. Its attack bonus is higher than that of the basic bolt, but the resulting damage still follows the standard magical resolution against the particular opponent's defense.

Because it can be used only once per combat, it makes sense to choose an important target and a suitable moment. The spell is not an automatic attack on an entire group or a source of a lasting electrical field. It does not add unlisted paralysis. The party can build its strategy around one powerful strike but still needs a plan in case the result is weaker.

Exact effect: A powerful single-target lightning attack against the target's MDEF. Bonus: +4 to MATK. Target: 1 target within sight. Duration: instantaneous. Restrictions: once per combat. Using it requires at least Intelligence 9 and Level 2, the appropriate casting ability, and knowledge of this spell. Meeting the numerical requirements alone does not grant knowledge of the spell.

Meeting requirements is not enough

Min. INT and Min. Level only allow a spell to be learned. The character must actually acquire it through leveling, a teacher, a book, a scroll, a reward, a discovery, or the story.
