Ray of Exhaustion

Ray of Exhaustion is a powerful attack against one visible target that can also weaken its next attack. In a story, it can be a striking moment of Dark Magic. However, the additional penalty arises only if at least one Hit Point of damage is actually dealt. Casting alone does not automatically strip away all strength or completely disable the opponent.

The spell is used once per combat, and the brief penalty does not stack. It makes sense to choose an important target whose next attack is dangerous. The damage result still depends on magical defense. The party should be ready to follow up on the advantage gained and have an approach for a situation in which the additional weakening does not apply.

Exact effect: A powerful attack against MDEF. If it deals at least 1 HP of damage, the target also takes −1 to its next attack; the penalty does not stack. Bonus: +5 to MATK. Target: 1 target within sight. Duration: until the end of the target's next turn. Restrictions: once per combat. Using it requires at least Intelligence 11 and Level 7, the appropriate casting ability, and knowledge of this spell. Meeting the numerical requirements alone does not grant knowledge of the spell.

Meeting requirements is not enough

Min. INT and Min. Level only allow a spell to be learned. The character must actually acquire it through leveling, a teacher, a book, a scroll, a reward, a discovery, or the story.
