Nature Magic · area attack / control
Wrath of the Forest
Wrath of the Forest is a rarely usable area attack against a small group of nearby targets close to soil or plants. It can significantly change a battle in surroundings suitable for Nature Magic. Its name conveys the power of a moment in the story, rather than unrestricted control over an entire forest. Its range and number of targets are specific, and resolution is subject to the area-effect rule.
One roll is compared against each target's defence separately. A target that is wounded cannot move closer to the caster on its next turn, but does not lose every option for movement. This requires at least one HP of actual damage. Its single use per adventure calls for good timing and a planned follow-up by the whole party.
Exact effect: Compare one MATK roll against each target's MDEF. A target that takes at least 1 HP of damage cannot move closer to the caster on its next turn. Bonus: +3 MATK. Target: up to 3 targets close together near soil or plants. Duration: instant. Limit: once per adventure; the area-effect rule applies. Use requires at least INT 10 and Level 5, the appropriate spellcasting ability and knowledge of this spell. Meeting the numerical requirements alone does not grant knowledge of the spell.
