Flame Spear

Flame Spear is an advanced attack focused on a single visible target. It can be a striking moment in combat, when the caster brings stronger fire magic to bear against a significant opponent. Although its appearance resembles a weapon, it is not an ordinary spear held in the hand or a tool for repeated physical thrusts.

Because it is available only once per combat, choosing the moment and the target matters. Damage is calculated using the standard magical formula against the opponent's defense and is not guaranteed in advance. The spell does not automatically hit further enemies behind the first target. Its higher requirements emphasize that it is not a replacement for a basic attack for every novice caster.

Exact effect: A powerful single-target attack; damage is calculated using the standard formula against MDEF. Bonus: +5 to MATK. Target: 1 target within sight. Duration: instantaneous. Restrictions: once per combat. Using it requires at least Intelligence 10 and Level 5, the appropriate casting ability, and knowledge of this spell. Meeting the numerical requirements alone does not grant knowledge of the spell.
