Fire Bolt

Fire Bolt focuses a fire attack on a single target within sight. In a story, it can be a clear, swift expression of the caster's resolve. It is intended for a direct confrontation, rather than extending an explosion to everyone nearby. Its bonus distinguishes its effectiveness from the basic Spark, while the usual rules for a magical attack still apply.

It is useful when a hero wants to attack a specific opponent they can see. The final damage depends on the attack and the target's magical defense; it is not a fixed, guaranteed amount. The spell does not add unlisted hits on neighboring creatures or an ongoing burning condition. For the party, it can serve as a precisely aimed tool instead of a riskier area attack.

Exact effect: A direct, single-target magical fire attack against the target's MDEF. Bonus: +2 to MATK. Target: 1 target within sight. Duration: instantaneous. Restrictions: —. Using it requires at least Intelligence 7, the appropriate casting ability, and knowledge of this spell. Meeting the numerical requirements alone does not grant knowledge of the spell.

Meeting requirements is not enough

Min. INT and Min. Level only allow a spell to be learned. The character must actually acquire it through leveling, a teacher, a book, a scroll, a reward, a discovery, or the story.
