Magic Hand
Magic Hand creates a visible aid for simple tasks involving a light, unattached item. It can lift something, bring it closer, or press a simple mechanism, making it useful for cautious handling from a short distance. Its capabilities are narrowly defined: it is not a universal force that can move any object or replace a skilled craftsperson.
The party can use its reach where it would rather not put its own hands immediately. However, the item's weight, its distance, and the simplicity of the task must be checked. The spell cannot attack, affect a creature, or perform complex fine work. It requires concentration, and its limited duration is a reason to prepare a plan before casting rather than during it.
Exact effect: Creates a visible magical hand that can lift, carry, or set down an item, or press a simple mechanism. This is not Telekinesis and cannot affect a creature. Target: an unattached item up to 2 kg within 5 m. Duration: concentration, at most 3 rounds. Restrictions: 1 hand; no attacks or complex fine work. Using it requires at least Intelligence 6, the appropriate casting ability, and knowledge of this spell. Meeting the numerical requirements alone does not grant knowledge of the spell.
