Find Water
Find Water points a traveler toward the nearest reachable source within a limited area. In dry country, it can provide a crucial reason to change course and serves as a reminder that a successful expedition also depends on everyday supplies. The spell does not conjure water into a waterskin or choose the most comfortable campsite for the whole party.
After learning the direction, the party must still reach the location and assess the source it finds. The water may not be safe to drink, and obstacles may await along the way. The information helps plan exploration and replenish supplies. The limit of one use per scene encourages thoughtful timing rather than aimless repeated attempts.
Exact effect: Shows the direction of the nearest reachable water source within 1 km. Does not determine whether the water is safe to drink. Target: caster. Duration: instantaneous. Restrictions: once per scene. Using it requires at least Intelligence 6, the appropriate casting ability, and knowledge of this spell. Meeting the numerical requirements alone does not grant knowledge of the spell.
