Ancestors' Counsel

Ancestors' Counsel gives the party one truthful, useful clue to the problem it is currently addressing. In a story, it can recall a connection to the past and experience beyond that of the heroes themselves. It helps further thought rather than taking over the entire adventure. The clue should support the players' own decisions and offer a direction they can explore.

One use per adventure gives the counsel special weight. It is worthwhile to know which problem the party is addressing and where it needs a new prompt. The spell does not reveal the whole solution or a certain future. Even truthful information can require interpretation and confirmation through further steps, so gaining the counsel begins new decision-making rather than granting automatic victory.

Exact effect: The AI provides one truthful, useful clue to the problem currently being addressed. Does not reveal the entire solution or a certain future. Target: party. Duration: instantaneous. Restrictions: once per adventure. Using it requires at least Intelligence 9 and Level 3, the appropriate casting ability, and knowledge of this spell. Meeting the numerical requirements alone does not grant knowledge of the spell.

Meeting requirements is not enough

Min. INT and Min. Level only allow a spell to be learned. The character must actually acquire it through leveling, a teacher, a book, a scroll, a reward, a discovery, or the story.
