Restore Courage
Restore Courage helps an ally remove one Fear effect or an ordinary mental penalty. In a story, it can be an important moment of support when one party member helps another act again. Its effect addresses a specific restriction rather than every hardship the character faces. It does not restore Hit Points and should not be confused with a healing spell.
The caster must come within reach and choose an effect that meets the stated conditions. Use on the same target is limited per combat. Removing the penalty can create an opportunity to return to the original plan, but does not move the hero to safety or deal with the enemy. The party should know how it will use the ally's restored options.
Exact effect: Ends one Fear effect or one ordinary mental penalty. Does not restore Hit Points. Target: 1 ally within reach. Duration: instantaneous. Restrictions: once per target per combat. Using it requires at least Intelligence 7, the appropriate casting ability, and knowledge of this spell. Meeting the numerical requirements alone does not grant knowledge of the spell.
