Stone Sense
In a relevant stone or underground environment, automatically identify cavities, secret passages, unstable rock, high-quality ore, or unusual properties of stone.
Starting hero · Level 1
A dwarf rogue may explore underground structures, rescue trapped people, or know safe routes beyond a locked gate. Stone Sense helps the character read an environment where others see only a wall. Rogue training develops agility, while retained strength offers practical options. The role is interesting precisely because it combines discretion with the courage to enter unknown underground spaces.
Within the party, the rogue helps gather information, pass unnoticed, and gain access using suitable tools. The greatest contribution often comes before combat, when scouting helps the group understand what it can avoid. Soft Steps makes ordinary sneaking easier, but an exceptional obstacle may require a roll and the ability cannot create cover where none exists. Others' trust depends on the rogue's decisions, so defining personal boundaries and an attitude toward other people's property is useful.
The racial ability Stone Sense automatically reveals cavities, secret passages, unstable rock, high-quality ore, or unusual properties of stone in a relevant stone or underground environment. The class adds Soft Steps: Vaelor assumes success during ordinary sneaking. Only an exceptional obstacle requires a roll; the ability does not allow hiding where it is objectively impossible. Choose starting equipment according to the requirements this particular hero meets. The listed values form the basis of a level-one character; personality, name, relationships, and the reason for adventuring are decided during character creation.
