Stone Sense
In a relevant stone or underground environment, automatically identify cavities, secret passages, unstable rock, high-quality ore, or unusual properties of stone.
Starting hero · Level 1
A dwarf warrior is a dependable pillar of the party, especially where combat meets stone and underground spaces. The character may come from a mining settlement, serve as the guard of a mountain gate, or search for a missing relative. Strength provides a natural foundation for direct confrontation. Lower agility encourages planning the route, retreat, and position from which to protect the others.
Within the party, the warrior helps keep danger away from more vulnerable allies and gives them room to make decisions. The character may guard a retreat, accompany a negotiator, or hold an important passage. The role is useful outside combat too: protecting travelers, preparing an expedition, and handling situations where someone needs support. Courage may mean admitting a mistake or choosing a safer route, rather than accepting every challenge.
The racial ability Stone Sense automatically reveals cavities, secret passages, unstable rock, high-quality ore, or unusual properties of stone in a relevant stone or underground environment. The class adds Protect: once per battle, the warrior may take an attack directed at a nearby ally. The attack is resolved against the warrior's defense instead. Choose starting equipment according to the requirements this particular hero meets. The listed values form the basis of a level-one character; personality, name, relationships, and the reason for adventuring are decided during character creation.
