A crossbow is a more effective agility-based ranged weapon associated in Elaria with city guards, caravan protection, and independent adventurers. Its mechanism gives it a distinctive appearance, and it may bear a maker's mark. A repaired detail or familiar marking can reveal where a particular piece of equipment came from.

It requires both hands and greater agility than simpler ranged options. The catalog adds no separate loading rule, automatic armor penetration, or additional restrictions based on real historical crossbows. The listed parameters therefore determine its use in play. A hero may prefer a crossbow because of personal experience, availability, or the way they imagine their character.

Attacks use Agility (AGI). The 2H designation means it uses both hands. The minimum is AGI6, and its catalog physical attack bonus (PATK) is +3. The price is 4 gp.
