Potion of Luck

A Potion of Luck temporarily increases a character's Luck and particularly appeals to heroes preparing to take a risk at a crucial moment of an expedition. It may have a reputation as a rare supply kept at the bottom of a backpack for a long time. That reputation is a detail in the story; the potion grants no right to change any event or predetermine the adventure's outcome.

Use it for a significant scene or battle where Luck applies under the rules. The particular attempt, its difficulty, and the player's decision still matter. The bonus is not absolute protection against the consequences of a risky plan. In the story, the decision to drink the final supply before an uncertain step can itself reveal a character's courage and worries.

Rules effect: +2 LUCK for one significant scene or one battle. The price is 3 gp. When used, preserve the exact listed effect and duration. Its listed effect applies to the situation it is intended for. Additional bonuses, other forms of protection, and new magical abilities are not part of this entry.
