Padded Armor

Padded armor is basic light protection suited to an adventurer who needs affordable equipment and meets even a modest strength requirement. In Elaria, it may come from a home workshop, be issued for service, or be given as a gift before a first journey. The fabric's color and repairs can tell the wearer's history without changing its bonus.

It helps protect a hero in ordinary physical encounters, but does not replace a thoughtful approach. For a less physically strong character, it may be a better choice than armor they cannot yet use under its requirements. Its listed entry grants no separate protection against magic or other hidden property. Compare it with the hero's entire equipment set and budget when choosing.

The catalog lists the type as "light" and the base physical defense bonus (PDEF) as +1. Required Strength is STR3. The price is 1 gp. Final defense also depends on the hero's attributes and the rules for the equipment in use. This armor's protective value alone grants no additional bonus to magical defense.
